MAXIMUM THE HORMONE

Ever since the birth of the Universe, Asians have been the craziest race on Earth. Within that bracket there are none crazier than the Japanese, this is scientific fact and also the central theme of any good bible. If putting on your best flowery dress and eating little bowls of rice on a table lower than Ghandi's cholesterol is your idea of fun then I can recommend MAXIMUM THE HORMONE to you.

To describe them beyond using the general term 'rock' and mentioning that they are loud and crazy with infectiously sweet choruses would be an injustice; I don't think I could do it accurately. Scat. Here are a couple of their videos on Youtube, if anyone enjoys it enough to want more I can easily get it for you in mpthree.

Feel free to post any other Japanese music/insanity here.

The following three pictures do not require posts to accompany them. But they are all awesome.

Great thread idea. More to come, once I organise my collection a little... Nihon ya Nihon-jin ya Nihon-go ga dai suki desu!

So yeah. The later part of the anime series Death Note uses a Maximum The Hormone tune to open each episode.

It is one of the very worst pieces of 'music' I have ever heard in my life. It's a mixture between death metal, J-rock and white noise. It gave me a headache each time it came on.

It also included the lyric "hey, hey, human sucker, you are a human fucker" repeated about 20 times.

It started off really really strong, dipped in quality in the middle and picked up pretty well towards the end. Fun show. I am L btw.

Watashi wa Kira desu.

Yes, I agree. First 15-18 or so episodes were full of intrigue, but L's death was shit. Don't be fooled with the hype of the special, it was basically the entire series condensed into an hour and a bit. Nothing much new apart from the intro and end segues.

Enjoyed the ending though. Only logical denouement, though it kept things interesting. Blood!

Still though, Maximum the Hormone sucked hard on the OVA. Ningen fucker.
